About the Artist

I am a nature photographer based in Fairfield, Iowa; born 1978 in Czechoslovakia.

In the year 2000 I discovered an amazing macro-world right outside, on my way to school. I become so mesmerized by dew drops on the eyes of grasshoppers, compound eyes of praying mantis, and beautiful colors of butterfly's wings, that I devoted my BFA work to insect photography,

In 2004 I was awarded Outstanding Student and local TV became interested in my nature photography.

I've became inspired and started to travel. I've photographed insects, animals and landscapes in many places around the world. My profession involves photography as well. I've joined the company, The Sky Factory that creates backlit wall and ceiling murals.

Winning the first Picture Sustainability Photo Contest was a milestone in my life, and it has inspired me to continue pursuing my passion for photographing nature. It warms my heart to know that my pictures touch people and can help support our endangered environment.
